spreading barges, transport vessels, and other work ships are
active.

Photo: August 2001
Four months have passed since stones of the gently sloping rubble
mound type seawall started to appear above the sea level.
Approximately
5 km of the seawall, 40% of the entire length, have become land, and
the contours of the second airport island can be confirmed.

Completion of the seawall.
Direct filling in of sand (direct
work)has started.

Photo: May 2002
Except for the opening, the entire seawall has appeared.
The work
has reached another step with the change from direct filling
to piling up for the land reclamation work.

Photo: February 2003
Nine months have passed since soil filling started.
Approximately
220 ha of land have appeared, and the intended construction site
for the runway can be confirmed visually.
